Biography

Mr. Oscar Lee Hood, age 68, of Meansville, died Monday, July 19, 2010, at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.

Mr. Hood was born on February 1, 1942, in Spalding County, son of the late James T. and Mamie Bailey Hood. He was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hood of Meansville; daughter and son in law, Pam and Doug Parrish of Warner Robins; sons and daughters in law, Jim and Patsy Hood of Savannah, Neal and Kresha Hood of Thomaston, Wayne and Alicia Gibson of Meansville, Keith Gibson of Bay Side, Florida; brother and sister in law, James and Lois Hood; sisters and brother in law, Becky and Cecil Haney, Roxie Burnette; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at 2:00 PM, at Mt. View Baptist Church. Visitation will be 1 hr prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 301 Kelly Dr. Peachtree City, Ga., 30269.
